Established in 2007, Freda's Granola is packed with old fashioned rolled oats, sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, dried cranberries, and is slightly sweetened with a bit of unrefined maple syrup. Freda never skimps, and her granola is the best of everything! |

Freda Wong, the founder of Freda's Granola, first made her granola for her family, as a holiday gift, in 2002. Conscious about waste, she didn't want those who loved it to have too little; and those who weren't so fond of it to have too much. Armed with a 2 gallon vintage glass container that she could barely wrap her arms around, she arrived at her sister's house on Christmas Day. Little did she know, what was to come next. |

| Her family fought over it. They ate it all. And – they asked for more! |

Freda continued to make granola for them regularly, adding an additional group of friends and family each year to make granola for. Not only does Freda's "I only like Chinese food" dad eat it every day for breakfast, but her 90-year old Chinese grandmother would sneak it while no one was looking, and a friend's picky 3-year old son even chased her around the house. The real kicker was, people wanted to buy stock in her business. The only problem... there was no business! |

| Freda incorporated in 2007. As Freda's Granola expanded, customers would call and say "My friend from overseas kidnapped my granola. I need more!" Another buys 4 bags at a time – one for each member of the family. A professor called her a "Life Saver" – not for Freda's healthcare skills, but for having the perfect granola to grab as she ran out the door for a long day of lecturing. And a marathon runner insists on having it in her pocket... one reserved especially for Freda's granola. |

Freda still makes her granola in small batches, in a little commercial kitchen in Montclair, California. Committed to healing the world, Freda's mission is to use her business to help others. We're just happy she supplies us with our addiction. And we can definitely say she IS the peacekeeper! <<back |
